On the first Saturday of every month, the Canal Street Historic Downtown District area hosts the Gallery Walk on Canal and Douglas Streets in with the Atlantic Center for the Arts Harris House, The Clay Gallery, Mosquito Mud Pottery Gallery, and Arts on Douglas Gallery from 4 PM to 8 PM.

On the second Saturday of every month, Canal Street Historic District co-sponsors with the East Coast Cruisers for the Cruise Night on Canal Street beginning at 4 PM and ending at 8 PM.  Come to see the antique and muscle cars.  There is food and entertainment.  There are also themed event on the first weekend of the month along with an event on Saturday at Gallery Walk on Canal and Douglas Streets.
